‘OASIS’
Located at Piazza di Spagna in Rome, Italy. Where the bright sun invades its streets with massive heat in the summer and attracts all kinds of travelers to the city, it was requested to create A kind of resting zone, a shelter, that would protect its visitors from this actions. The proposal given for this project, solely conceptual, was to radically change the nature of its space AND challenge viewers to think over the boundaries we have as designers of spaces.
Based upon the concept of an oasis as reference, the suggested offer for this project is to build big black walls as tall as it’s surrounding buildings and fill all of it’s interiors with all kinds of plants, providing a sensation of peace and serenity while behaving as a natural shelter, embracing it’s guests.
